  44th Annual Edmonton Rugbyfest

  May 18 – 20th, 2012

  One weekend dedicated to rugby like no other.  Teams face off on a pitch for an exhibition of skilled rugby battles, bruises and beer; three day celebration of rugby history and its future.

  The 44th annual Edmonton Rugbyfest is set to kick off at Ellerslie Rugby Park on Friday May 18th.  Rugby fest is a collaborative tournament hosted by Edmonton’s local Rugby community that promotes the sport and culture of Rugby.  Since its inception in 1968 Rugbyfest has attracted teams not only from Alberta but also from all over North America and the world.  In previous years Rugbyfest has been an international host to teams from Idaho, Montana, California, Connecticut, Ireland and Scotland.

  This one of a kind tournament will feature competitive hard hitting action with a 7”s social tournament for the Men, 7’s tournament for the women, Old Boy Contact (40 and over).  Please see attached for more information on the Elite 7’s.

  Friday, May 18 – Welcome Bash takes place at the Ellerslie Rugby Park.  A great way to mingle with those you may battle on the pitch. 2 free kegs (begins when doors open) and Great live Music.

  Saturday, May 19 – the day begins early, with games scheduled from 9:00 – 4:00 pm.  It doesn’t end there.  The social event planned for Saturday will be announced closer to the tournament.

  Sunday, May 20 – Games scheduled from 9-3.  In true Rugbyfest tradition, the schedule events end with the Festival in the Park.  BBQ, Souvenir mug, all the beer you can drink.
